Local SEO Services for UK Businesses

When someone searches “plumber near me” or “accountant in Leeds”, Google shows a map with three businesses before any normal results. Local SEO is the work that gets you into that map pack and onto page one for searches in the places you actually serve.

What is local SEO?

Local SEO is optimising your online presence so you appear when people nearby search for your services. It covers your Google Business Profile, location-specific pages on your website, consistent business listings, reviews and local links. Google ranks local results mainly on relevance, distance and prominence.

What's Included

Google Business Profile optimisation

Correct primary and secondary categories, services, service areas, opening hours, photos, products and regular posts - the profile details that most directly affect map-pack visibility.

Location & service-area pages

Genuinely useful pages for the towns and cities you cover, with local detail, FAQs and proof - not copy-and-paste pages where only the city name changes.

Citations & NAP consistency

Your business name, address and phone number matched across key UK directories such as Yell, Thomson Local, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect and industry-specific sites.

Review strategy

A simple, compliant process for asking happy customers for Google reviews, plus templates for replying to every review - good or bad.

Local content & links

Content and partnerships that earn mentions from local press, trade bodies, suppliers and community organisations.

Tracking that shows real results

Calls, direction requests and website clicks from your profile, plus map-pack rank tracking across your service area.

How It Works

  1. Local audit

Profile, listings, reviews, competitors and the local keywords that matter.

  2. Fix the foundations

Profile clean-up, citation corrections, on-site local signals and schema.

  3. Build local pages

Service and location pages written for the people who search in each area.

  4. Grow prominence

Reviews, local links and regular profile activity, reported monthly.

FAQ

Local SEO Questions

Do I need a physical address to do local SEO?
No. Service-area businesses such as trades and mobile services can hide their address on Google Business Profile and list the areas they cover instead. You do still need a genuine business presence, and Google may ask you to verify it with a video call, photos or documents before the profile goes live.
How long does local SEO take to work?
Fixing profile and listing problems can show an effect within weeks. Competitive city-centre searches usually take several months of consistent work, including reviews, local content and citations. We agree realistic targets after the initial audit, and report on map-pack visibility, calls and direction requests so progress is visible.
Should I create a page for every town I cover?
Only where you can make each page genuinely useful, with local projects, specific services, travel times and FAQs. Dozens of near-identical pages where only the town name changes can do more harm than good. We usually start with your most important areas and add pages as they earn their place.
Can you remove bad reviews?
Only reviews that break Google's policies, such as spam, fake or abusive content, can be reported for removal. For genuine negative reviews, a calm, helpful public reply is usually the best response. Over time, a steady flow of new positive reviews matters far more than any single bad one.
